We are pleased to announce that we are now extending and expanding our collaboration with Talent Norway, with a focus on developing talent programmes for young string players, leaders, singers, and chamber music groups!
In Voksenåsen’s new talent programmes, our artistic partners, the Danish String Quartet, Anssi Karttunen and his Creative Dialogue, Swedish Radio, and Randi Stene, will work closely with Artistic Director Peter Herresthal and Program Director Anna Florén to develop Nordic courses and mentorship programs.
‘We are very proud to be able to strengthen our ties with such a prominent Nordic musical community as represented by the Voksenåsen Academies,’ says Talent Norway’s Director, Silje Riise Næss. ‘It is a delight to observe how the mentors’ expert guidance elevates participants to new levels. These masterclasses and programs strengthen the musicians for the rest of their professional careers.’
The major Nordic educational institutions are partners in this collaboration, along with several private foundations and supporters, including Sparebankstiftelsen Dextra, the Swedish-Norwegian Cooperation Fund, and A.P. Møller Fonden.
‘It is fantastic that together with Talent Norway, we can develop a Nordic mentorship program with such strong partners. This represents a significant boost for the development, careers, and visibility of young musicians,’ says Peter Herresthal.
Voksenåsen Music Academies also have several collaborations with festivals such as the Arctic Chamber Music Festival, the Baltic Sea Festival in Stockholm, the Bergen International Festival, and the Oslo Chamber Music Festival. We offer a vocal talent programme led by Opera Director Randi Stene in collaboration with Folkoperan in Stockholm, a composer programme in collaboration with Swedish Radio and Creative Dialogue in Paris/Helsinki, collaboration with the Ingesund School of Music at Karlstad University, a wind programme led by clarinetist Andreas Sundén, harp courses, piano courses, and a large collaboration with the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
For more than 25 years, Voksenåsen Music Academies have been one of Europe’s leading courses for young musicians, in close collaboration with the Norwegian Academy of Music. Every year, 200 young people come together for masterclasses in singing, composition, strings, wind instruments, and chamber music at summer courses and in talent programmes throughout the year.
Voksenåsen is Norway’s national gift to Sweden and a Swedish-Norwegian cultural center in Oslo, owned by the Swedish Ministry of Culture. For more information: Talent Programmes – Voksenåsen Music Academies (voksenasenmusicacademies.com)
