We are delighted to present Peter Herresthal and Daniel Stabrawa as violin teachers this year!

Award winning violinist Peter Herresthal has appeared with orchestras and ensembles worldwide. He has recorded 22 violin concertos for BIS and Simax earning 10 nominations and 5 Norwegian Grammys. He received two grammy nominations alongside composer Missy Mazzoli for their album from 2023, “Mazzoli: Dark with Excessive Bright”. Peter Herresthal is a Professor at the Oslo Academy, visiting Professor at the Royal College of Music, London and NYU Steinhard School New York. He is also the Artistic Director of Voksenåsen Music Academies. He performs on a GB Guadagnini from Milan 1753.

Daniel Stabrawa was concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker for 35 years. In the era of four chief conductors – Karajan, Abbado, Rattle and Petrenko – he gave around 1500 concerts with the orchestra in Berlin alone, and appeared as a soloist with the orchestra, including in violin concertos by Prokofiev, Mozart, Beethoven, Szymanowski and Jenő Hubay. He studied at the conservatory in Kraków under Zbigniew Szlezer, was a prize-winner in several international competitions and was appointed concertmaster of the Krakow Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1979. in 1985 he founded the Philharmonia Quartet, and from 1986 to 2000, Stabrawa taught at the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker.
