Sigge Nisbeth –
“A genuine rising star” is how The Strad Magazine described Sigge Nisbeth, giving their CD ‘Let Beauty Awake’ (BIS, 2017) with works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Rebecca Clarke and Benjamin Britten their “Editors Choice” Award. In 2014, they premiered together with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Britta Byström’s viola concerto, written especially for Nisbeth. The disc recording of the concert was nominated for a Grammy, and Gramophone Magazine hailed them as “a model soloist”.
Nisbeth has appeared as a soloist with some of the leading orchestras in Scandinavia and Europe. Between 2014 and 2023, Sigge has taught at the Royal Academy of Music, Edsbergs Slott. They are also a sought-after guest lecturer at several universities in Europe and at NYU Steinhart. We are so pleased to welcome Sigge back to the Summer Academy in August!
