Introducing Voksenåsen Summer Academy’s clarinet class!
We are thrilled to have Andreas Sundén, Björn Nyman, and Anna McGregor as teachers for the clarinet class this summer.
Andreas Sundén is a clarinet soloist in the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and was previously clarinet soloist in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Sundén is the artistic director of the Summer Academy Voksenåsen for Winds.
The Finnish clarinetist Björn Nyman (born in 1977) is one of the leading clarinetists of his generation in the Nordic region, and is a sought-after chamber musician and soloist. He holds the position as Principal Clarinet in the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and in the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. Björn Nyman is a prizewinner in two of the world’s most prestigious clarinet competitions: the ARD competition in 2003 and the Carl Nielsen competition 2005.
New Zealand clarinettist Anna McGregor is currently based in Sweden where she holds the position of Alternating Principal Clarinet at Wermland Opera in Karlstad. Between 2010-2013 she studied towards a masters degree at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm under teachers Hermann Stefánsson and Martin Fröst.
