The programme is designed to help emerging string quartets who are active in or have strong connections to the Nordic countries to develop the professional skills, experiences, and networks necessary to take their career to the next level. Voksenåsen is grateful for the support of our sponsors for this programme: Talent Norway, Nordisk Kulturfond, Dextra, and Musipaed at Royal Danish Academy of Music sponsored by AP Møller – Mærsk A/S, Sparebankstiftelsen, and Swedish Norwegian Cooperation Fund.
The successful string quartets will have the chance to collaborate with and learn from members of the Danish String Quartet and renowned chamber music professor Tim Frederiksen throughout the year. They will also be offered a programme of regular mentorship, workshops and masterclasses, performance opportunities, and skills development and networking events from summer 2024 to summer 2025. Expenses associated with participation in the programme will be covered by Voksenåsen and Danish String Quartet’s funding partners.

Each individual quartet will receive a personalised programme of events that is tailored to their specific needs and interests. Possible collaboration opportunities include the Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Berwaldhallen in Stockholm, Arctic Chamber Music Festival in Svalbard, and the Danish String Quartet Academy and Series of Four in Copenhagen,  among others, and higher education institutions including Norges Musikkhøgskole, Royal Danish Academy of Music, Kungliga Musikaliska Akademien, and Ingesund School of Music at Karlstad University.

Please apply by sending links to 3 video files, a quartet biography and CVs from each member, and a repertoire list with special focus on Nordic repertoire that you have studied or are planning to play. Please also include a covering letter stating your connection to the Nordic region, your relevant experience, your interest in the programme and what you are hoping to achieve through it.
