About the talent programmes
Here at Voksenåsen Music Academies, we create opportunities for outstanding young Nordic classical musicians to develop, expand their professional networks and take the next steps in their careers.
For 30 years, the Voksenåsen Summer Academy has brought emerging musicians and leading international artists together in Oslo. Today, Voksenåsen Music Academies has grown into a year-round platform for talent development.
Our work is built around close artistic exchange between generations. Young musicians work directly with leading performers, mentors, and teachers, while developing their own artistic identities, professional skills and networks. Partnerships with orchestras, festivals, educational institutions and cultural organisations give participants opportunities to perform, teach, collaborate and build the relationships that shape a career in music.
OUr Programmes
Our talent programmes currently encompass:
- Soloist
- Voice – in collaboration with Folkoperan
- String Quartet – in collaboration with Danish String Quartet
- Composition – in collaboration with the Baltic Sea Festival
- Musical & Pedagogical Leadership – a Nordic programme developing the artistic, pedagogical and professional skills of the next generation of musical leaders
Each programme combines individual mentoring with artistic work, performance opportunities, professional development and access to a strong Nordic and international network.
The programmes are shaped around the needs of each artistic field and the development of the individual participant. Activities take place at Voksenåsen and with selected partner institutions, festivals and ensembles across the Nordic region and beyond.
Participation in the talent programmes is fully funded.
Our work is made possible through the generous support of Talent Norway, Dextra Musica / Sparebankstiftelsen DNB, Svensk-Norska Samarbetsfonden, and Nordisk Kulturfond.
