ABOUT THE SUMMER ACADEMY COURSE

THE AIM

Our aim is to provide participants with high-quality training and musical inspiration.

The Summer Academy is continuously evolving, with the Norwegian Academy of Music as its main collaborative partner. The Summer Academy also cooperates closely with the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Royal College of Music in London, The Royal Danish Academy of Music, School of Music Ingesund,  Dextra Musica, Sparebankstiftelsen and the Swedish – Norwegian Cooperation Fund. 

University credits

Participants will earn 3 ECTS for the course at Voksenåsen. The student must meet the general admission standards for Norwegian Universities to earn the credits. To meet general admission standards for Norwegian Universities you need to have completed High School or the equivalent. Norwegian students at this level are generally at least 19 years old. If you were born in 2008 or later, we may require further information about your academic level for you to be able to earn the ECTS. Voksenåsen will contact those who require additional documentation.

Schedule

The course starts (on the day indicated above) with an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. and is followed by masterclasses. For the remaining days there will be masterclasses from approximately 09.00-18.00. Lunch is from 12.00-14.00, and dinner is from 17.30 every day.

There will be house concerts every night, for which the students can sign up on a first come, first serve basis. On the last day of your course there will be a final concert and a festive dinner. Departure the morning after the last day of your course (read course dates above).

07:30-10:30 – Breakfast in the Restaurant

09:00 – Masterclasses begin

12:00-14:00 – Lunch in the Restaurant

Around 18:00 – Masterclasses end

17:30-19:30 – Dinner in the Restaurant

20:15 – House Concert

21:15 Evening snack in the Restaurant

There will also be possibilities for running, walks in the woods, trips to nearby lakes and more.
